Terms & Conditions
I work to a strict code of ethics as laid out by my regulatory body, The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. A copy of this code of ethics can be found here: GHSC: Code of Ethics.
The Terms and Conditions below apply to all hypnotherapy, mindfulness and coaching services provided by me, Kim Plummer of Kim Plummer Hypnotherapy, either online or in-person.
Services
1. The sessions you receive will include a combination of hypnotherapy, mindfulness and coaching practices. You agree to being hypnotised for therapeutic reasons.
2. You accept that any hypnotherapy and/or coaching is offered on the basis of the information you supply, and affirm this has been correct and truthful.
3. You understand that any coaching and hypnotherapy provided is a collaborative process and it is reliant on us working together. Progress is dependent on your own motivation and participation within our sessions and in completing additional tasks set by me outside of our sessions together to support your therapy/coaching. Whilst I will always do my best to help you achieve a successful outcome, no guarantees can be made.
Online
4. All sessions will take place online, unless an alternative arrangement has been made at the time of your booking.
5. Online sessions will take place via Google Meet, and I will send you the link for our sessions. This will be discussed prior to our first session together.
6. When working online, it is your responsibility to ensure that the environment you choose for your sessions is safe and free from distractions, and that you are not interrupted or overheard by others at your end of the connection.
7. Our sessions together are confidential, in accordance with my confidentiality policy (below). You agree, therefore, when working online, to inform me if there is anyone else present at your session, or monitoring the session. I reserve the right to terminate our appointment if this is the case.
8. You agree not to record our sessions (either by sound or visual means) without my prior consent.
9. When we work online, you agree that we are working under the jurisdiction of the laws and regulations in force in England and Wales
Timings
10. Each session will be an agreed time frame of either 1 or 1.5 hours. If the session runs significantly over the agreed time it may result in an additional fee, which we will discuss and agree at the time.
11. I will call you at the agreed time to begin our session. If you do not answer, you are allowed one callback five minutes after the scheduled time and then another after a further five minutes. If you do not answer after the second callback, your appointment will be cancelled.
12. With regard to lateness to an appointment, this time may have to be taken off the length of your session depending on my schedule for the rest of the day.
13. I will always be flexible where I can be. If, for any reason, your session length needs to be changed by you on the day, full payment of the originally agreed time frame will need to be made. If I need to change the length of the appointment, the cost will be adjusted accordingly.
Payment
14. Payment in full for each session must be made at least 24 hours in advance, prior to commencement of the session. If payment is not received 24 hours in advance then the session will not go ahead.
15. If you have pre-booked a programme of sessions, then these should be paid in full at least 24 hours prior to commencement of the first appointment.
16. Bank transfer is currently the only method of payment I currently accept. Details will be provided to you once your booking has been accepted by me.
Cancellation and missed sessions
17. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible.
18. The required notice for cancellation is 48 hours prior to your appointment.
19. Where there is less than 48 hours notice, or you fail to attend your appointment, the full fee will be charged. I hope you can appreciate that it is rarely possible to fill these appointments at short notice which is why I am obliged to charge for my time.
20. It is your responsibility to remember the agreed date and time of your appointment.
21. I endeavour to provide you with as much advance notice as possible in terms of holidays, or if I should need to cancel a session for whatever reason.
22. No refunds will be offered for any sessions that have already taken place.
23. No refunds will be offered for any sessions that are part of a specific programme of therapy, even if you choose not to complete all the sessions
Confidentiality
24. I see confidentiality as an integral part of our time together and essential to building our therapeutic relationship, as well as ensuring your sense of safety. The therapeutic process encourages you to be as open and honest as possible and inevitably personal experiences and sensitive information is disclosed. It is vital therefore that you can trust that everything we discuss will remain completely confidential. You can read my Privacy Policy here.
25. All information, either provided verbally or in writing, will remain confidential unless both of us agree to discuss something with a third party or parties.
26. As we are working online, you accept that there may be issues outside of my control that could affect confidentiality, for example: the actions/failures of the platform we may use (ie: Google Meet).
27. As your therapist, I have a responsibility both to you (my client) and to the community at large. Some moral and legal limitations therefore apply to confidentiality. These limitations mainly concern risk of serious self-harm, harm to others, and child protection issues. If a situation arises in which the moral or legal limits of confidentiality are exceeded, the reasons will be explained by me and discussed with you at the time.
